Privacy policy

Last updated October 24, 2026

We keep as little as we can, we use it to run your campaign, and we don't sell it. This covers handylead.ca and our campaigns, under Canada's PIPEDA and BC's PIPA.

Who is responsible

HandyLead, a trade name of Eugene Tamarovsky, a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada. Eugene is the person responsible for privacy. Write to hello@handylead.ca or mailing address to be added.

What we keep

  • Your website address, and what our scan read from your public pages (trade, town, services, photos).
  • The email and phone you type, and your card: words, offer, photos and logo.
  • Your order: package, area, job addresses you send, messages, proof approvals.
  • Payment records from Stripe (amount, date, receipt). Not your card number.
  • A count of QR scans: the time of each scan. We don't keep who scanned, their IP address or their location.
  • Which steps of our site get used (like “scan started” or “order page opened”), counted per browser tab with a random id that lives only in that tab and is gone when you close it. No cookies and no IP address. If you came from an ad, its source tags (like “google, spring campaign”) and the ad's click id are kept with your card, so we can tell which ads work. Also your answer to “How did you hear about us?”, if you give one.

People who get a card

For a Town mailing, Canada Post delivers to every home on the routes, so we never have names or addresses of the people who live there. For an After a job mailing, we use the job address you give us to find the nearby streets. We never buy or sell mailing lists.

Why we keep it

  • To make your card, plan, proof and price, and to print and mail it.
  • To show your results and answer your messages.
  • To keep records the tax rules require.
  • To send tips and offers, only if you ticked that box. Every one has an unsubscribe link (CASL).

Who helps us

A few companies help us run HandyLead. They only get what they need for their part:

  • Stripe: Card payments and receipts. Your card number goes to Stripe, never to us.
  • Supabase: Our database, and storage for photos and logos you upload.
  • Railway: Hosting for handylead.ca.
  • Microlink and Google PageSpeed: A screenshot of your website's front page during the scan. They visit your public site, nothing else.
  • Anthropic (Claude): Only when you press the rewrite button: the card text and what your site says about you, to suggest a better wording.
  • OpenStreetMap / OpenFreeMap: The maps on the plan. They see the map area, not your details.
  • Google Fonts: The fonts on our pages.
  • Our print and mail partner, and Canada Post: Your card's print file, and for After a job mailings, the street area to mail. Never a homeowner's name.

Some of them store data outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where their laws apply.

Photos you upload

Photos and logos you upload are stored at a web address that isn't listed anywhere but can be opened by anyone who has it, so the card preview and the printer can load them. Don't upload photos that show people's faces or house numbers without their OK.

Cookies

We don't use tracking cookies, analytics cookies or ad pixels, so there's no cookie banner. Your browser remembers your campaign link and sound setting on your own device, and the tab id above until you close the tab. You can clear them any time.

How long we keep it

Order records: 7 years, for Canada Revenue Agency rules. Cards that were never ordered: until you ask us to delete them. Ask any time.

Your rights

Email hello@handylead.ca to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop emails. We answer within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in BC, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Security

How we protect your information is on our security page. If a breach could harm you, we tell you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
